We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Developer (f/m/d) to be based in our Vienna office! In this role, you will dive into hands-on consulting development work, translating clients' wishes into innovative digital signage solutions. You will also coach and mentor 10 talented colleagues as a competence lead, foster the right skillsets, and create processes to consistently deliver technology powered solutions to our clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as a coach and mentor 10 developers of various levels in Vienna, supporting their career development and facilitating their growth - but not managing them day by day
- Manage effective working practices from a technical perspective, including maintaining a healthy project management cycle, ensuring good code quality standards, and clarifying requirements and goals
- Identify training opportunities and facilitate knowledge transfer, enabling the squads to continue utilising new technologies to create better solutions for our clients
- Create well-thought-out solutions for complex customer requirements, supported by our internal CMS solution using a combination of C# and Angular
- Work closely with external and internal stakeholders to foster collaboration and achieve shared success
- Actively participate in recruiting new "Grassfish" team members as needed
- Contribute actively to open discussions where every idea is valued
- Regularly challenge yourself with new tasks and embrace continuous learning alongside your team
Your profile

We are now looking for someone with
- Proven experience in technical leadership, either as a team leader or in a similar role (e.g., project manager), with a strong understanding of the Austrian developer talent pool
- Significant professional experience as a Developer, with hands-on expertise in agile environments - you can either be stronger in backend or frontend, or even both?
- Expertise in coaching and mentoring developers to help them reach their full potential
- You understand how to break down customer requirements into actionable tasks for engineers to design and implement
- You enjoy engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and collaboratively architecting solutions with your colleagues
- You are well-versed in version control systems (e.g., Git or Bitbucket), CI pipelines, maintaining a high-quality codebase, and automated testing
- You possess the ability to think abstractly and adopt a solution-oriented approach
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken); German language skills are an advantage

The minimum annual salary (based on the Austrian collective agreement) amounts to € 4.400,- gross per month on a full-time basis. The actual salary on offer is higher and is aligned to professional experience and qualification.
